Through the NCGA Foundation, the organization created and expanded Youth on Course, which provides kids access to golf for $5 or less at over 1,700 golf courses across the US and Canada.
Position : Coordinator, Operations
Status : Non-Exempt
Reports to : Manager, Golf Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator, Operations position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Operations unit. This will include assisting with tournament administration (entry process, player points, course contracts, awards, etc.), ensuring tournament information is correctly entered into NCGA internal systems, responding to member inquiries, and other general administration.This position reports to the Manager, Golf Operations and is expected to work collaboratively with other employees to achieve results. This person works independently with general supervision and occasionally makes independent decisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - As necessary, support the Operations team on assigned events which includes tracking & organizing completed course contracts, tournament entries, player information sheets, and results information.
- Coordinate NCGA events with Northern California golf facilities including scheduling, providing materials, and account reconciliation.
- Coordinate the tournament entry process for assigned events.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and correspondence.
- Manage the compilation and coordination of the annual competitions calendar and all other tournament information.
- Update Tournament Central and Tournament Volunteer websites as necessary.
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the tournament officials' yearly assignments.
- Provide materials and support to tournament volunteers for all events.
- Provide support in maintaining volunteer contact information, training, and certifications.
- Provides assistance to the department with special projects as needed.
- Answers NCGA member phone calls and assists members with requests and needs.
- Provides other departments support as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented work environment as well as work well individually with general supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the NCGA.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or 1-2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of golf tournament formats and the rules of golf.
WORK SCHEDULE: - During the tournament off-season, the schedule is typically Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
- During the tournament season, nights and weekends may be required, and the schedule will be flexed as appropriate.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time, Non-Exempt position, with a targeted salary of $22.00-$23.00/hour. The benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance. Dependents may be added with premiums paid by the employee. Participation in the company's 401k plan after one full year of employment. PTO, holidays, meals, and golf benefits also included.
